Join us tonight, Tuesday April 30th as we celebrate our 2024 Beacon Award winners. The evening kicks off at the Pine Tree High School Theater with a reception at 5:30pm, followed by the awards ceremony at 6pm. Let's come together to honor these outstanding educators and staff members who make such a difference in the lives of our students.

Pine Tree High School Art Students Shia Alford (Freshman) and Madalyn Scaggs (Senior) received Top Honors at the State Visual Arts Scholastic event in San Marcos over the weekend.
Shia received a state gold medal for her color pencil drawing on black paper in the Division 1, 2D category.
Madalyn received a state gold seal medal by being 1 of the top 10 in the Division 4, 3D category and 1 out of the 162 gold seal medalist overall. Gold seal medal winners will have their artwork in a traveling student show that will travel around Texas till November.
Madalyn was also awarded the Robert W Parker Memorial Scholarship of $500 for her artwork that was selected over all 2400 state pieces at this year's event.
There were over 33,000 student artworks entered at the regional level this year and only 2400 made it to the state event. This is an amazing achievement for both of these students and they're awards are well deserved.
Congratulations again Shia and Madalyn!

Ada Stafford receives the Mayor Mack Scholarship for Pine Tree. Mayor Mack provides a scholarship to local students who have shown an attitude of service to the Longview community. Graduating seniors from Longview, Pine Tree, Spring Hill and Hallsville High Schools who are residents of Longview are eligible to college. One scholarship is awarded per high school to students for furthering their education. These funds, which total $5,000, are provided by Mayor Andy Mack. Rather than receive an annual stipend for his service on City Council, Mayor Mack uses his stipend to invest in students' futures.
