Bullying Policies & Procedures

Bullying occurs when a student or group of students engages in written or verbal expression or physical contact that:

  1. Will have the effect of physically harming a student, damaging a student’s property, or placing a student in reasonable fear of harm to the student’s person or of damage to the student’s property; or 

  2. Is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that the action or threat creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for a student.

Bullying is prohibited by the District as well as any retaliation against anyone involved in the complaint process.

Pine Tree ISD Board Policy FFI(LOCAL) establishes guidelines for reporting bullying. Once the campus principal or designee has received notification that a student may have experienced bullying, they will conduct an investigation as outlined in policy FFI(LOCAL).  Click to view/print Bullying Policy.(opens PDF document)

The campus administrator will complete a “ Bullying Incident Report” to ensure the District has followed the proper guidelines.

Reports of bullying shall be made as soon as possible after the alleged act or knowledge of the alleged act. Any student who believes that he or she has experienced bullying should immediately report the alleged acts to a teacher, counselor, principal, District employee, or parent/guardian. If the report of bullying is made to someone other than the campus principal or designee, that person should report it to him or her immediately.
