LONGVIEW, TX – Pine Tree Independent School District proudly congratulates Heather Hernandez, College and Career Specialist at Pine Tree High School, on being named the Area 3 Counselor of the Year by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT).
Mrs. Hernandez is an innovator in postsecondary advising and a true asset to the students she serves and the entire Pine Tree school community. Each year, she provides guidance and support to hundreds of students as they prepare for their next steps whether entering the workforce, pursuing a trade certification, or attending college.
CTAT’s Area 3 spans 28 counties and more than 140 school districts across Northeast Texas, covering an area stretching from Sabine County to the Oklahoma and Arkansas state lines. Being named Counselor of the Year within such a large and competitive region highlights Mrs. Hernandez’s exceptional contributions and leadership in career and technical education.
