Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) announced the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring.
Over 1.3 million juniors entered the competition last year, and Pine Tree's own EMILY WILLADSON qualified. This puts her PSAT & SAT scores in approximately the top 1% of scores submitted for this competition across the country. The qualifiers for the next stage of the competition, National Merit Finalist, will be announced in February 2026. Congratulations, Emily!
