Congratulations to the following students who received awards for the Longview Museum of Fine Art student show. The show is open to the public until May 11, 2024, with fourteen area high schools represented. Please join us this Thursday, March 21 @ 6:30 PM in the Little Theater for our community show and the final performance of our UIL One Act Play, Alabama Story by Kenneth Jones. For the 2nd year, the dynamic duo of Travis Johnson and Aiden McQueary medaled at the UIL CX Debate State Meet held on the UT-Austin campus March 15-16. The team placed 5th out of 56 teams under the coaching guidance of Alyx Dickson. According to the UIL website, the purpose of cross-examination (CX) debate is to “train the student to analyze a problem, conduct thorough and relevant research, and utilize principles of argumentation and advocacy in orally presenting the most effective case for or against a given proposition.” Congratulations Aiden and Travis! Go Pirates!

Pine Tree High School One Act Play presents Alabama Story. District Performance is March 6, 2024, at 10:00 am at Texas High, Texarkana Community Performance is March 7, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the PTHS Little Theater. General Admission is $10 Staff and Students are $5

This past weekend, both teams from the HS (Varsity & Junior Varsity) competed in their district show at Pine Tree HS in the Pirate Center! Both teams had competitive success - Varsity took 2nd and Junior Varsity took 3rd over some tough competition. I'm happy to announce that both teams advanced to STATE! Junior Varsity STATE will be March 23rd at Flower Mound Marcus HS, and Varsity STATE will be April 6th & 7th at Coppell HS. This past weekend our teams beat: Junior Varsity: Arkansas HS (AR), Corsicana HS, DeSoto HS, Grand Saline HS, Haughton HS (LA), Hooks HS, Jefferson HS, North Lamar HS, Palestine HS, Paschal HS Varsity,,, Prairiland HS, Rivercrest HS, Sanger HS, Texas HS Varsity, Trinity HS, Tyler Legacy HS Varsity: Marshall HS, Mount Pleasant HS JV, Sulphur Springs HS
