Pine Tree’s “The Pride” Marching Band Ranks Among Top 15 in Texas at UIL State!

The Pine Tree High School Band, known as “The Pride,” capped off an incredible marching season with a dazzling performance at the UIL State Marching Championships held at the AlamoDome in San Antonio.

"It truly was a magical year for the band and color guard. The growth and development of the students from the summer till now is incredible, we could not be more proud of them."

Twenty - Seven 4A schools from across the whole state of Texas Qualified for the State Championships, going through three rounds of qualifying to earn a spot. To get to the UIL State Tournament, bands have to earn a 1st Division Rating at the UIL Region Marching Contest. They then compete with all of the bands in their Area, through two rounds of performances for the few spots to advance to state. There are a total 218 schools in class 4A and Pine Tree ended placing 15th overall in the entire state. This is the highest finish at the State Championship the band has had in the last 30+ years.

Five Pine Tree High School students have earned the AP Capstone Diploma™ based on the scores released from the 2025 AP® Exam administration. Approximately 27,650 students at participating AP Capstone™ schools around the world earned this distinction.

AP Capstone is a College Board diploma program that's based on two yearlong AP courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. The program provides student-centered learning while incorporating performance-based assessments. Both courses prepare students for college and career success through the development of critical thinking, academic research, collaboration, presentation, and time-management skills.

To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing. This is an outstanding achievement, and the award is acknowledged on any AP score report that is sent to colleges after the award has been conferred.

Congratulations to the following students:
