On Saturday, February 25th, Pine Tree High School Art Students competed at the Region 7 Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) and earned 43 gold medals!
This year was our first year back for the in-person event after two years of virtual events. Each student participated in a Juror Interview to discuss and defend the choices they made in their artwork.
The interview is roughly 40% of their overall score, with the artwork accounting for 60%. Several of our students submitted two artworks for the competition and received medals for both artworks.
Out of the 49 Artworks that competed, Pine Tree had 40 artworks that received a regional medal, and three students received area medals and advanced to the State VASE competition in San Marcos.
PTHS Art teachers Caitlin Rutledge, Carmen Gadt, Spring Parnell, and Wayne Gaddis are extremely proud of all of their students for representing Pine Tree High School with this amazing accomplishment.
