💙 Dress-Up Days at Pine Tree Primary 💛

We love dress-up days at Pine Tree Primary! For our young learners, dressing up can be a fun way to create concrete connections to what we are learning and make school experiences more meaningful and memorable.

We also know that dress-up days can sometimes feel like one more thing for families to do. We do NOT want families to feel like they need to spend extra money to participate! Look around your house and use what you already have. A shirt, hat, pair of socks, or simple color is perfect.

All dress-up days are OPTIONAL!
Children are always included whether they dress up or not.

🎨 Color Days

We will be reviewing colors at school! Students may wear the color of the day to help make a fun connection to their learning.

September 21 — Red ❤️
September 22 — Yellow 💛
September 23 — Orange 🧡
September 24 — Green 💚
September 25 — Blue 💙
September 28 — Purple or Pink 💜🩷
September 29 — Black or White 🖤🤍
September 30 — Gray or Brown 🩶🤎
October 1 — Favorite Color 🌈

🌎 Hispanic Heritage Month Dress-Up Days

Let's celebrate our cultures, families, and the amazing Hispanic heritage represented in our community!

September 16 — Traditional Dress
Wear traditional clothing or clothing inspired by your culture.

September 23 — Western Wear 🤠
Wear your favorite western style—hat, boots, plaid shirt, or something you already have at home!

September 30 — Colors of My Culture 🌎
Wear colors that represent your culture or the colors of your country's flag.

October 7 — Sports Jersey Day ⚽🏈⚾
Wear a shirt or jersey representing your favorite sport or team.

October 14 — Traditional Dress
Wear traditional clothing or clothing inspired by your culture.

💙 More Fun Days to Come!

We will also have Red Ribbon Week dress-up days and may occasionally have surprise days connected to attendance celebrations or other special events. We will try to give families advance notice whenever possible.

Remember: Dress-up days should be FUN, not stressful! Use what you have, participate when you can, and know that it is always okay not to dress up.

It’s a great day to be a Pirate! 💙💛🏴‍☠️

Visiting guests must be listed as a contact in Skyward. If a guest is not listed, we will have to contact the parent/guardian for verbal permission during the event, which may cause delays.
Need to add a guest? We strongly encourage you to visit the Pine Tree Primary front office before September 19 to have your license scanned and make sure the needed guests are listed in Skyward.
Lunch Options

Your little Pirate may eat their regular cafeteria lunch for free, or you are welcome to bring outside food and drinks for your child.

Guests who would like to eat a school lunch may purchase one for $5.00 — cash only.

After eating lunch, students and their grandparents or grandfriends will have an opportunity to shop together at the Book Fair before students return to their regular school schedule.

✏️ Big Skill Alert! 💙💛 One of the first and most important skills we work on at Pine Tree Primary is learning to recognize, read, and write our own names! It’s an important first step toward becoming confident readers and writers. 👏 Way to go, Miss Coleman’s class! These little Pirates have been working hard to recognize and build their names with playdough, and we are so proud of their progress! 💙💛 Parents, you can help at home too! Try practicing names with: 🟣 Playdough ✏️ Crayons, markers, or pencils 🖍️ Sidewalk chalk ☁️ Shaving cream or sand 🔤 Magnetic letters 📝 Tracing and copying their name ⭐ Lots of encouragement as they learn! https://youtube.com/shorts/oary7n6QKY8?is=9KQawql5J3wL2Bud Keep practicing, Primary Pirates! 🎈 Every name is progress!

Let's Do Lunch

Hi, Primary families! We’ve had a great start to the school year! 💙💛

🎥 Please watch our Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminders:
https://youtu.be/LwM96Fgow1E

With almost 500 little Pirates arriving and leaving each day, everyone following the same procedures helps keep our students safe and our lines moving!

🚗 MORNING DROP-OFF

⏰ Car lines on Pine Tree Road and Silver Falls Road open at 7:00 a.m. You may use EITHER line in the morning.

Before entering the unloading area, please have your child:
🎒 Backpack and water bottle ready
🚙 Unbuckled and ready to exit
➡️ Sitting on the side closest to the building/sidewalk

When staff open the door, students should be ready to exit independently and walk into the building.

If your child needs extra time to get ready, please park, get situated, and then rejoin the line.

❤️ Having a Hard Morning?

If your child is having difficulty getting out, you may take another lap or park for a few minutes and try again.

Staff will happily encourage and verbally prompt students, but for safety, we cannot reach inside vehicles, pull children out, or carry them inside. Students using the car line must be able to exit and walk into the building independently.

REMEMBER 7:29!

Our car lines close at 7:30 a.m. To use the car line, you must reach the checkpoint by 7:29:

📍 Silver Falls: Be OVER the large speed bump.
📍 Pine Tree Road: Be AT the stop sign leading into the drop-off area.

If you have not reached the checkpoint before 7:30, please drive to the main office and walk your child inside.

🚶 Walk-in drop-off is available at the office from 7:20–7:30 a.m. This is a drop-and-go area, and parking is limited.

⚠️ Beginning Monday, students arriving at 7:31 a.m. or later will be counted tardy.

🚌 BUS TRANSPORTATION

Buses generally arrive around 7:10 a.m. If you would like to add bus transportation, stop by the office to complete the paperwork. Please allow approximately 3 business days for processing.

📚 WHY 7:30 MATTERS

Students eat breakfast, complete morning work, and get settled before announcements begin at 7:45. Arriving on time helps every Pirate start the day ready to learn!

🚙 AFTERNOON PICK-UP

🔄 Transportation Changes

Changes must be:
📝 Sent in a written note
📱 Sent to your child’s teacher through Seesaw
🏫 Made in person through the office

☎️ Transportation changes will NOT be accepted over the phone.

Please notify your child’s teacher of changes before 1:00 p.m.

The office closes for early pickups at 2:30 p.m. so we can prepare for dismissal. If you forgot your car tag, you may still stop by for another one.

🚗 AFTERNOON CAR LINE

Car line begins at 2:45 p.m. on Pine Tree Road and Silver Falls Road.

🏷️ Have your school-issued car tag clearly displayed.

Beginning at 2:45, staff enter car-tag names so students can be lined up inside in the same order as the cars outside.

➡️ Please follow staff directions about which car to follow and where to move. Even if another spot looks open, stay in the order assigned by staff because your child is being lined up inside based on that order.

🚙 We begin loading at 2:55 p.m.

Please remember:
🏷️ Display your car tag
➡️ Follow staff directions
🚗 Stay in your assigned order
⬆️ Pull forward when directed
👀 Watch for staff and children
All students must be picked up by 3:15 p.m.

🚌 BUS & DAYCARE RIDERS

Bus riders are called and loaded one bus at a time. Daycare riders are called and loaded into their assigned vans.

Dismissal may take a little longer during the first few weeks as everyone learns our routines. Thank you for your patience!

🎈 QUICK REMINDER

MORNING: Ready before the line • Independent out of the car • Checkpoint by 7:29

AFTERNOON: Car tag displayed • Follow staff directions • Picked up by 3:15

Thank you for helping us safely move almost 500 little Pirates each day! 💙💛

It’s a great day to be a Pirate! 🏴‍☠️
