About Ms. Davis

I started my teaching career as a student teacher at Pine Tree Junior High 26 years ago. During my first years as an educator, I taught middle school English Language Arts, middle school math, Algebra I, and speech communications. I also sponsored the student council and worked with the Communities In Schools program during the summer. I returned to Pine Tree as a high school English II and remedial reading teacher. I have taught professional communications, English I, II, III, and IV. I am lucky. I currently teach everything I love: English III, AP English III, and AP Research. I also coach UIL Ready Writing, the Barbara Jordan Research Essay, Spelling and Vocabulary, and Literary Criticism. Teaching is hard, but I look forward to sharing my days and love of learning with my students. I love them all!

I have a B.S. degree in Communications and English from SFASU and a M.Ed. in educational administration from Lamar University. My two sons are Pine Tree graduates and former band students, and both are current students at LeTourneau.

I am a first generation college student, and that led me to join the Upward Bound program as their summer enrichment English teacher. Upward Bound is a national program with a local hub at Kilgore College. It supports students who desire to matriculate to college but may not know how to get there. Ask me about it. It offers college visits, free tutoring, and college admissions counseling.
