Head boys basketball coach and assistant track coach. He is originally from Liberty CIty, Texas and is a 2007 graduate of Gladewater High School. Coach Hales graduated from Angelo State University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary studies and finished his master’s degree in Health and Human Performance from Sul Ross State University. Coach Hales and his wife Hayley, who is a 2008 Pine Tree graduate and educator as well at Spring Hill ISD, have one son Harrison Flinn Hales who is 3 years old. He has coached in a variety of different settings from the collegiate level to head boys basketball coach in a few different districts. This will be his 7th year in public education and his 9th year of coaching overall. Coach Hales served two years as the head boys basketball coach at Milano High School. In that time his program achieved back to back playoff appearances and a playoff victory in 2017 advancing to the area round of the UIL playoffs. He is in his 2nd year as head basketball coach at Pine Tree and is excited to be a part of the family at Pine Tree! Go Pirates!
