This is the beginning of my sixteenth year at Pine Tree High School where I teach United States History. I was born and raised in the Piney Woods of East Texas graduating from Longview High School in 1971. Following high school, I attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas where I also played football and was fortunate to have been a member of the 1975 Southwest Conference Champions. I began my coaching and teaching career in Sherman, Texas in 1976. Three years later I moved to Tyler to teach and coach at John Tyler High School. After spending two years in Tyler I moved back to Longview and worked in the oil and gas business. Following eighteen years of working in the private sector, I returned to the field of education. I spent 8 rewarding years teaching children with learning disabilities at Crisman Preparatory School. I returned to teaching and coaching in the public school system in 2005 at New Diana before coming to Pine Tree High School in 2008.
