National Night Out- First Tuesday in October- National Night Out is a nationwide event that promotes community partnerships and neighborhood safety, and we will be celebrating by bringing together families, staff, and local first responders for an evening of fun, connection, and community-building activities.

Join the Pine Tree Community at various sites around the community for food and fun.

Fall Family Picnic-Thursday, October 8- Bring a lunch and meet the other families in your child’s class! The goal of the Fall Family Picnic is to help families connect with each other to build the classroom community in and out of school!

Fall Picture Day- This is for yearbook pictures. Parents will be able to order pictures.

Fall Parent Conferences- Students will not come to school on conference days. Classroom teachers will work with parents to schedule and confirm your conference, which is generally 15-20 minutes long.

Ellis Pottery Field Trip-Primary is getting ready to go visit the Ellis Pottery Pumpkin Patch in October. Students will get to visit the pumpkin patch and decorate a pumpkin. The field trip will last about an hour. Students will eat lunch at school before or after their field trip

Pumpkin Science Week- We need 2 large and 2 small pumpkins for each class to use the first two weeks of October to explore Pumpkin Science!

Fire Prevention Week- Fire Prevention Week 2025 will take place October 5-11, and this year's theme is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you! ™” You can use this week to educate the community on the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. Primary students learn about fire safety from a visit from local firefighters.

Red Ribbon Week- Primary students focus on making good choices and being safe. There will be fun dress up days this week!

Monday- My Future is Too Bright for Drugs - Students wear Neon colors & sunglasses.

Tuesday-Give Drugs the Boot - Students wear their western attire and cowboy boots.

Wednesday- You Have the Power to be Drug Free - Students wear superhero attire.

Thursday-Pair Up Against Drugs- Twin Day

Friday-Drug Free Looks Like Me As… - Students wear their favorite Storybook Character costume & will participate in the parade.

Career Costume Parade- Friday, October 30 at 2:00pm

As weather permits, the parade will be held outside of the school. Students will walk on the sidewalk in front of the office.

We ask for your cooperation and judgment to ensure that the costumes the children select are appropriate for an elementary school. Creativity and originality in selecting costumes are encouraged and appreciated. However, student costumes should not include weapons (toy guns, toy knives/swords, etc.) and should not promote violence.

Students need to be able to get in and out of the costume to use the restroom independently. Students will still have outdoor recess, so please have them wear tennis shoes.

After the parade, students will return to their classrooms. Parents wishing to pick up their students after the parade will be able to check out our students from the teacher at the classroom door. Please have a car tag to show to the teacher.
