Love to read? Ready to find your next amazing book? Join us on Tuesday, October 21st at the PTHS Cafeteria for our first PT Literacy Night! The first 20 students to sign in at their grade level group's table (3rd-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th) are guaranteed to go home with a new book! Doors will be open for entrance between 6:20-6:40! During this one hour Literacy Night, students will go on a "Blind Date with Books" to discover new books without seeing the cover, some of our PT authors will share their works, and then we'll do a "Book Tasting" to preview the pages!

This past week, Pine Tree Junior High Librarian Mrs. McGowan partnered with the History and ELA departments to present an engaging lesson about the events that transpired on September 11, 2001. Mrs. McGowan shared a detailed presentation featuring timelines and key information about 9/11, prompting students to reflect and answer thought-provoking questions.
Adding a personal touch, Ms. Williams, 8th grade ELAR teacher, shared her experience visiting New York City this summer, giving students a firsthand connection to the places discussed. This collaboration brought history to life while reinforcing critical thinking and literacy skills.

⚠️ Action Required: Parent Consent Needed for Nurse and Counselor Services ⚠️
Beginning September 1, 2025, a new Texas law (Senate Bill 12) requires parental consent before school nurses may provide health-related services to students and before school counselors may provide routine counseling services to students.
Without your consent, nurses and counselors will only be able to provide assistance in emergencies. This means we will not be able to provide health services such as basic first aid (including bandages and ice packs), or routine counseling services until the consent form is completed.
Please log in to your Skyward Family Access account to complete and submit the consent form. The form must be completed on a computer, not on a mobile device. If you do not have access to a computer, please visit your child’s campus office for assistance with log in.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting student health and well-being.
