At the April 10, 2023 PTISD board meeting, the Pine Tree High School Leadership, Student Council and National Honor Society students did an excellent job leading the pledges. PTISD employees Tyneeka Hudson, Maria Garcia, Gerald Coleman and Sharon Smith were honored and recognized with the Above and Beyond awards for outstanding service to PTISD. PTISD volunteer Jamie Sharp were presented the Most Valuable Pirate Award (MVP) for her contributions to our district. Our 2023-2024 Teachers of the Year were also recognized. The 2023-2024 Teachers of the Year are: Primary – Jayne Craig; Birch Elementary, Javier Sauceda; Parkway Elementary, Jennifer Ingram; Pine Tree Middle School, Amy Streetman; Pine Tree Junior High, Amanda Dalston; High School, Mark Thomas and PACE, Jodi Stark. Jennifer Ingram is the District Elementary Teacher of the Year and Amanda Dalston is the District Secondary Teacher of the Year. The district’s new Career and Technical Education Director Jacob Lusk was introduced. Mr. Lusk comes to PTISD from Fort Worth ISD where he served as CTE Coordinator. Students from PTHS Theatre Department presented a scene from this year’s production of The Color of Our Gold. #pirateproud #atraditionofexcellence #congraulationstoall

Pine Tree ISD CEER teachers share how a CEER class is different from a regular classroom. This project-based learning pathway is in its third year of implementation serving students in grades 1-8. Members of the Pine Tree High School Choir, under the direction of Danielle Warren, competed in the Mickey Melton UIL Invitational at Longview High School on Tuesday, April 4th. The Pine Tree Parkway robotics team competed at the Region VII robotics competition on Friday, March 31st. Wyatt Scaggs and his teammate Ryan Vaughn won first place in the arena awards. Benny Alvarado and his teammate Sadie Sage won second place. They competed against more than 80 other teams made up of 4th through 8th graders.
