Pine Tree ISD proposes to destroy Special Education Records of students who were removed from the program or who graduated from Pine Tree ISD within the academic year 2016-2017.  This purge of records for this particular academic year is in keeping with the Texas Education Agency guidelines which require school districts to keep Special Education Records for a period of seven years.  Guardians or former special education students with records on file for that year should notify the Special Education Office at Pine Tree ISD at 903-295-5170 by May 31, 2024, if they wish to obtain records or wish for your records to be retained.  It is our responsibility to inform you that such records may be needed for Social Security benefits or other purposes and that it would be to your benefit to obtain them.
