Congratulations to the Pine Tree HS UIL Academic team and especially to our 🥇first place🥇winners!
The team opened their competition season at Mount Pleasant HS, competing against other strong programs, Mount Pleasant, Hallsville, Sulphur Springs, and Chapel Hill.
The PTHS Speech and Debate team competed in the Lindale tournament October 25. We are particularly proud of our freshmen competitors for taking the lead. Our season is off to a great start! The team competes next Saturday on November 1 when they host 25 schools for their annual Walk the Plank Invitational.

Congratulations to UIL debater Jy'Mon Hatcher who was crowned the Longview Mr. Juneteenth 2025!
Longview's Juneteenth celebrations kick off Saturday, June 14 at 10 am with the annual parade. The parade will move down Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd from Pittman Street to Broughton Recreation Center. The parade will be followed by the Festival in the Park from noon - 7 pm at Broughton Park and will include food, music, and children's activities.

Pine Tree hosted day one of our district tournament Wednesday, March 26. Out of 11 events, Pirates were champions in 10, and we had the Top Speaker of the day. PTHS is currently 1st place in the district by 115 points. The rest of the events will take place this Saturday, again at Pine Tree HS. Wish us luck!

Congratulations to the Pine Tree Middle and Junior High Math Science Team on their winning season! The team placed 🥇1st🥇overall at the regional TMSCA meet in Queen City on March 8. Their next meet will be the state Texas Math Science Coaches' Association (TMSCA) meet on March 29 in San Antonio. Good luck! 🏴☠️

Good luck to Aiden McQueary who has advanced to the final round of Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking at the Texas Forensics Association (TFA) state contest.
Aiden competed against 86 speakers from public, private, and charter schools from all over Texas and is one of six left in the final round. 🙌
