Position Overview

Pine Tree High School is seeking a High School Anatomy & Physiology Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team for the 2026–2027 school year. This position plays a vital role in our Health Science Program of Study, preparing students for college and careers in healthcare through engaging, hands-on instruction in anatomy and physiology.

The ideal candidate will combine a passion for science with engaging, inquiry-based instruction that helps students understand the human body while preparing them for advanced health science coursework, dual credit opportunities, and postsecondary healthcare programs. This individual will work collaboratively with our Health Science team to provide students with meaningful experiences that inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Scope of Responsibilities

Teach high school Anatomy & Physiology courses that align with the Health Science Program of Study and applicable Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Develop engaging, inquiry-based lessons that connect anatomy and physiology concepts to real-world healthcare careers and clinical applications.
Incorporate laboratory investigations, models, simulations, and other hands-on learning experiences to reinforce scientific concepts.
Prepare students for success in advanced health science coursework, dual credit opportunities, industry certifications, and postsecondary health professions programs.
Collaborate with the Health Science teaching team to ensure curriculum alignment and support student success across the Health Science Program of Study.
Support Pine Tree High School's HOSA chapter in partnership with the Health Science teaching team by assisting with competitive events, leadership development, and student participation.
Build positive relationships with healthcare partners, colleges, and universities to strengthen student learning opportunities.
Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom and laboratory environment that reflects professional healthcare expectations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to students exploring careers in healthcare and related professions.
Maintain an "all in" attitude—when everyone helps a little, the biggest challenges can be overcome!
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience teaching secondary science or health science courses preferred.
- Experience working in healthcare or health-related fields is preferred but not required.
Certification Requirements
- Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain one of the following Texas teaching certifications:
  - Health Science Grades 6–12
  - Life Science Grades 7–12
  - Secondary Biology
  - Secondary Science
  - Secondary Science Composite

Skills & Requirements

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biological sciences.
Ability to create engaging, student-centered laboratory and classroom experiences.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate with fellow Health Science teachers, administrators, healthcare partners, and postsecondary institutions.
Passion for preparing students for careers in healthcare and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.

Compensation Highlights

$4,000 Signing Incentive
$3,000 Annual CTE Teacher Stipend
$500–$1,500 Annual HOSA Advisor Stipend (based on assignment)
