NYVPW

The Pine Tree PACE SAVE Promise Club is actively participating in the National Youth Violence Prevention Week 2020. Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE), an initiative of Sandy Hook Promise, is proud to be a founding  partner of National Youth Violence Prevention Week (NYVPW). Founded in 2001, NYVPW hopes to raise awareness and educate youth and communities on effective strategies to prevent youth violence BEFORE it happens. The campaign is a week-long event with each day of the week corresponding to a specific challenge for communities around the country to unite and youth to share voices that violence can be prevented!

The following themes are the daily conversation topics:

Monday, March 30        Know the Signs and SAVE the Day

Tuesday, March 31       Promote Respect and Tolerance

Wednesday, April 1      Be an Upstander

Thursday, April 2   Resolve Conflicts Peacefully

Friday, April 3      Unite in Action

The Pine Tree PACE Campus students and staff are creatively participating in these powerful activities that promote unity, community and connection. By using the PACE STRONG Google Classroom, students align their daily goals to incorporate the day’s topic. Videos, songs, and other information is made available to empower the students with knowledge and then encourage student participation in all activities. Daily Zoom Talks allow for students and staff to participate in critical conversations to bring the topic to life and to ensure the mission of promoting a community of non-violence is moving forward.  Pine Tree PACE Campus advocates for youth violence prevention in all areas. The PACE SAVE Promise Club believes in promoting adult choices & student voices.

This is the fifth consecutive year that PACE Campus will participate in #NYVPW!! We are excited and empowered to work collaboratively with our community, schools, and leaders in engaging our youth to become the change they wish to see in the world, engaging them to be upstanders and not bystanders.
