'Building S.T.R.O.N.G. Students...One Student At A Time!"
My educational career began in the Spring of 2006 in Pine Tree ISD as a Life Skills Assistant at Pine Tree Intermediate. My first teaching assignment was in August 2006 through May 2012 as the Life Skills Teacher at Pine Tree Middle School. I also served as a Special Education In-Home Trainer. I am now blessed to see some of my students graduate each May!
As an undergraduate, I attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. I completed my B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice at University of Texas at Tyler in 2004. My teaching certification was completed through LeTourneau University in Longview, TX in 2007. Lastly, I earned my Master's in Educational Leadership with Principal and Superintendent Certification in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
This school year, I will celebrate 20 years of marriage to my husband, Larry W. Adams, Sr. who is also employed with Pine Tree ISD. I have three sons and one daughter who are all PT Pirates. My adult son, Larry Adams, Jr. graduated in 2005 and has two young sons. My daughter, LaSeanda Wilcott graduated from Pine Tree in 2008 and is a licensed cosmetologist, certified M.A.C. Product Adviser, and Independent Beauty Consultant. Izrell Adams, a 2017 PT Alum, is a Freshman at UT Tyler and active local government and community organizations. Gabrell Adams is a Sophomore and is active in sports (football, basketball, etc) in both the school and community leagues.
I am also active in many activities which mainly involve the youth of our community. Some areas of focus are: Boys and Girls Clubs of East Texas, City of Longview Partners in Prevention (P.I.P), Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators, Forever Friends Mentoring Program, True Vision Ministries Youth Leader/ G-Rep Sunday School Teacher, and Teen Talk Facilitator.
My educational philosophy is based on the belief that all students can learn and can grow into productive citizens of our world. Coupled with that is my passion that the hearts of the students are healed, so that they won't become hurting adults.
When students participate in the PACE Program, it is my personal and professional desire that each student leaves S.T.R.O.N.G.er than when they came! Please feel free to contact me at any time to visit regarding supporting the students of our district.
