Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) will begin replacing TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) as the new student assessment program of Texas.
STAAR will assess the same TEKS standards in a deeper, more rigorous way. Pine Tree ISD is working hard to prepare each of our students and teachers for a smooth and successful transition to this new program.
